Just a follow-up on this issue.

Times are certainly changing. Yesterday I was doing some shopping in a local store (we live in a small rural town). There were several bins, one with bunnies and several other with baby chicks and ducklings. There was a sign hanging on top of them that read: "You must be 18 years or older to purchase live animals".

Regards.

Just wait, you guys are worried about being sued by mom or dad, the day is coming when some smart kid, with a smarter lawyer, decides to sue one of you for age discrimination because you refused to sell him a herp (LOL)

What about online?

I am sure many sales to minors have been made without the seller/s even knowing it!

Not exactly hard for a child to bid on ebay using thier parents user name. Kids frequently have access to their parents credit cards as well.

I had a bid from an 11 year old on ebay once, then got an email from the parent explaing what had happened. I had no clue it was a child bidding.

I guess there is a difference between buying a burger and a live animal. The burger you eat. The animal you are responsible, if it gets loose and causes an accident.... you the seller could be held liable for selling it to a minor.

It's a murky situation!

I dont think this will ever be settled. The law sucks lol face it. I mean seriously did you hear about the robber who was on a old ladies roof and slipped and fell off and became peralized. HE WON 8,000 DOLLARS!

There are only two things that are illegal to sell to a minor . . .They are cigarettes and alcohol.

Whatever you're trying to post, it didn't make sense.

There are no other laws that state specifically this or that cannot be sold to a minor. Only against cigarettes and alcohol.

There is the legally binding contrast stuff but that is a grey area and can be interpreted different by each and every person who reads it..

Yes, you are right it didn't make much sense now that I read it. What I meant was that you were leaving several other out. But now I understand you were referring to minors exclusively, and thus controlled substances and drugs are not included. What I believe does apply though to minors is x-rated material.

Take care.
