2-day shipping for tarantulas - is it ok?

Hello

I have been looking into getting a tarantula for the last several months and think I have everything covered except the actual tarantula. I am getting closer to ordering and have started looking into shipping practices for spiders but haven't found much.

Traditionally, it appears 2+ day shipping on insects is acceptable compared to vertebrates, however, most of these insects are feeders. I have no problem paying for overnight, but paying twice the amount of the spider to ship it makes me want to look for an alternate route.

If anyone can help, what's the success rate on shipping tarantulas with 2-day shipping? Is it even worth taking a chance with or is this just a silly question? Any advice would be appreciated.

Its been the Industry standard for years to ship either 2 day, or USPS Priority Mail......Inverts do just fine shipped that way.......

Depends on if the person shipping understands the needs of a tarantula. There are people who can ship packages that take 5-6 days that arrive fine and then there are people who dont have enough knowledge to even pack an overnight safely. Ive had packages come in fine on 5 day shipping and stuff dead overnight due to bad care of the packaging.

True that. IMO, it depends what type of T you are getting. What species?

GBB's are very hardy. I have 2 and got them both with 2-day shipping. There shouldn't be any problems.
