I agree. He was stupid at times, but he was really passionate and really wanted to educate the world.

This saddens me! May he rest in peace. He was a great entertainer aswell as educator.

Damn! That just plain sucks! This really saddens me to no end.

I know a lot of people didn't care for him. They say he's careless, and foolhardy. Ya know, a LOT of us either ARE, or STARTED out the same way. Gung Ho, with no fears of getting bit, wreckless if you will. Well, he may have been all that, but he was a genuine person. He truly cared for the animals, and education about them was his first interest. Perhaps it should have been second to safety after reading this.

Having had the occasion to meet Steve once during his Cochise Canyon, AZ episode, I know that the enthusiasm he felt and displayed for reptiles, and teaching people about them was the real deal. The way he lit up when the subject of reptiles came up........not something you could fake too easily. He had a huge heart, and it showed in his love of animals.

R.I.P. Steve Irwine

This man was one of the great Naturalists of the 21st century. He was a very passionate Conservationist and will be missed by 1000s of people throughout the world. I learned a lot from him. He is responsible for my love of Crotalus. I will miss him, may he rest in peace.
