Got Chippies?
Hello world, Got Chippies?

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. My Wife and I are hobby breeders / custom cage designers and builders from Richmond Virginia. We have three awesome Dilute White Siberian Chipmunks (Dale, Tippie, and Hazel) and a handfull of Tippies babies, well guess that they are teenagers now. They are fully weaned and living on their own, eating solid food and running around like crazy.

If you have never seen a white chipmunk, take a stroll to our website which is linked in my signature. Their not albinos - an albino has a total lack of pigment. These guys are known as "Dilute White" Siberian Chipmunks and they are quite beautiful: bright white animals with creme colored stripes and dark eyes. Not a lot of people have seen them, let alone heard of them. They are awsome as pets, they love to be handled and climb all over you. Each one has it's own personality traits.

We wanted to say hello and invite you to check out our up and coming website.

Thanks Ryan! We have a blast with them, our Son loves to play with them as evidenced by the video on the photos page.

Thanks Dennis. So little time - so much to do, lol. The babies are now fully weaned and ready to move on to new homes!

Hello and welcome aboard!

Very neat little critters, but I have to ask, do they ever hold still?

Sometimes they do except for when they don't. Their pretty active, but you can give them a snack and they will sit there and eat some and then pouch the rest in their cheeks.

Welcome to Fauna!! Those chipmunks are SO cute. I dont know anything about live mammal shipping, is it possible? I know how to ship snakes, thats simple to me, but shipping mammals seems to me like it'd be alot more complicated. Is that so? If not, im sure you'll find yourself a good bit of business here on fauna!

Welcome, and enjoy your stay. If i ever get the cash up i want one of those cuties, heck maybe even a pair!!!

Hey Chris,

We could meet somewhere between Richmond and Maryland. Don't know about shipping them, I know it is done but can be very stressfull to the Chippies. As rare as they are I'm sure it will be a while before they become common and easily availabe. They are a lot of fun, both in and out of the cage.

That would be great Daniel. It'll be a bit of time before i could afford one, including proper set up. I dont like having animals that can't openly enjoy there existence. I'd hate to be crammed into a tight space, so i refuse to allow a beautiful animal such as that to be in anything its uncomfortable with. Plus i have some other things to situate before i can accommodate an animal, once i situate that, i'll be in touch!
