Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Albinos from chain pet stores
When I first fell in love with Leos, I purchased three albinos from the local Petco(where I am happy to say they are well taken care of....very fat and happy critters, clean cages, knowledgable staff)...they get their supply from southern zoological, or southern california zoological....I am trying to figure out if these girls are Tremper? I'd heard that most albinos in pet stores are. Any one know or can anyone tell me how to differentiate between the three strains?
Thanks!
Shannan

I'm setting up the mini studio this weekend to get their pics, and everyone else's up on my web page. They have red eyes, colors started off really pinkish with yellow. They have maintained the fleshy/pink tone and the yellow is changing to tangerine with some carrot tail. They aren't the world's most spectacular Albinos but they are beautiful to me! White is starting to develop in streaks here and there.
Sounds like I just described every Albino out there.....

I believe
...Gourmet Rodent and Alan Repashy (gecko end of sand fire dragon ranch) have contracts with petco. Last I checked, both worked with Tremper strains and no others. I've also been told that Ron Trmeper has a contract with PetsMart. So to answer your question, more than likely they are Tremper strain.

Looks like I am going to have to start visiting my local PetsMarts more often. I have one 5 minutes down the road and one 30 minutes the other way. I wonder if they would actualy tell me were their Leos are coming from.

I can almost gurantee that they dont know where there animals come from, they just make an order from the home office or warehouse and wait for them to show up.

believe what>
who are these people? are they the breeding gurus of the species?
what do you need to check out at the local petsmart?
you have your creatures.
maybe you need some crickets.
maybe you need a new heat pad.
let me know if you know these things.
thanks

Ron Tremper, IMO, is the (or at least one of the) people responsable for the leopard gecko being as popular as it is today. He has been breeding leos for over 20 years and is one of the largest breeders in the world. He is also responsable for the Jungle, Stripe, Tremper Albinos, and Tremper Giants.
As for having my creatures already, Nope I don't. I used to breed leos but had to get out of the animal industry all together back in 1999. I am now getting back into them. Though I am going to be buying my initial breeder stock from Ron I will watch PetsMart for anything interesting that might slip by.
Just my $0.03
