Itinerary #41, September 11th!! Get Your orders in and ready for transport!!

Public Service Announcement

Please see the following ads for animals available by me:

If You get animals from another Seller(s) and from me, there is no Shipment fee for the animals coming from me, as I obviously don't have to go anywhere to get them, and I would already be coming to You with the other Seller's (Sellers') Shipment(s). If just getting animals from me, however, then yes, there will be the standard $175 transport fee.

NOTA BENE #1: Please see my PSA 'ad' posted on 04 January 2023:, which I intend to clean up, truncate and tweak a little bit to be more appealing, soon. It is a proposition that may appeal to a few.

NOTA BENE #2: For established Clients, I am accepting cash payments again (for the transport fees ONLY!) and will even encourage them to some degree; id est, I need to make sure there are enough electronic payments to pay for gas because I don't make cash deposits until I am home from itineraries, not that I can't pay for gas with cash, but I receive points and discounts with my GasBuddy, Shell, Exxon, BP and Fuel Forward (Phillips 66 / Conoco / 76) rewards programs, and it's much easier, quicker n' nicer paying at the pump - especially during Winter. First-time Clients will need to pay electronically.

NOTA BENE #3: Payments are to be made IN FULL before departure for any Shipments confirmed prior to departure!!! ...and immediately for any Shipments confirmed after departure!!! And there will be NO refund for a canceled Shipment if I have already departed and configured the itinerary to accommodate the Shipment!!!

Does Delta allow You to pay days or weeks after Pickup? NO!!! So, NO MORE paying days or weeks after Delivery!!! If my service is too expensive to pay up front, go with Delta, plain n' simple! This service is expensive for me, and I am sick of waiting on payments sometimes, such as $150 (of $200 total) still owed by Trenton Henley from the December 2022 itinerary (as of 09/05/23) - money already spent on gas, tolls and wear n' tear delivering that Shipment! "Burn me once, shame on You; burn me twice, shame on me", but there won't be a second time. Another $340 is still owed to me (as of 09/05/2023) between January and June albeit by a good friend who I know will pay up but is going through some personal matters; however, it is still the principal of the situation that I spent this money and need it reimbursed, so I will be cracking down on my trust and the amount of time I allow people to pay. After all; I have my daughter, Avelina, and myself to provide for, who come before anyone else.

For the occasional Client who has repeatedly proven him/herself, if he/she has a very good reason and provides me ample notice, I will allow a li'l leeway IF the majority of payments are in.

NOTA BENE #4: Please follow this link to my Obscure Gems Reptiles, LLC, page:, and read my Credentials, Conditional Live Arrival Guarantee (more like Exemptions from Live Arrival Guarantee) and Payment Terms & Conditions, which are all Pinned to the top of the page.

PRICE MATRIX (for multiple Pickups being delivered at the same time, to one [1] Destination, per itinerary)

One (1) Pickup = $175
Two (2) Pickups = $325
Three (3) Pickups = $450
Four (4) Pickups = $550
Five (5) Pickups = $650
Six (6) Pickups = $750
Successive Pickups will continue to be $100/ea on top of the $750.

Another way of wording it:

1st Pickup = $175
2nd Pickup = $150
3rd Pickup = $125
4th Pickup = $100
5th Pickup = $100
6th Pickup = $100
Successive Pickups will continue to be $100/ea.

NOTA BENE: This is when ALL Stops, id est all Pickups + Delivery, are within Standard Territory, id est: All of Pennsylvania down the east coast to Tampa, across the Gulf down to San Antonio, over to San Angelo and straight up through the greater eastern halves/portions of OK/KS/NE, up to Minneapolis, the lower halves of WI and MI, and everything within. Create imaginary latitudinal and longitudinal lines if You will, and there You have it. This is all give-or-take by the way; id est, I don't cut hairs.

Id est; for each Stop, whether Pickup or Delivery, outside of Standard Territory, there will be a surcharge. This is called an Extended Territory Surcharge. Examples:

$25: Laredo, Lubbock & Odessa, TX; Alliance, NE
$50: El Paso, TX; Cheyenne, WY; Grygla, MN
$75: Amado, Tucson & Phoenix, AZ

Very rarely, a Shipment will incur both the Seller and Customer (Recipient) being in Extended Territories, in which there will be two (2) surcharges. Exempli gratia: El Paso, TX-->Alliance, NE would be $250 total: $175 (base fee) + $50 (El Paso surcharge) + $25 (Alliance surcharge).

ADDENDUM: If there are multiple Shipments associated with an Extended Territory Stop, whether incoming and / or outgoing, or associated with the general region, I will lessen everyone's costs all of the way down to the standard rate ($175) if possible, and it often only requires 2 or 3 Shipments associated with such a Stop or region to come down this low! Exempli gratia:

Odessa, TX ($25 surcharge)
One (1) Shipment = $200
Two (2) Shipments = $175/ea

El Paso, TX ($50 surcharge)
One (1) Shipment = $225
Two (2) Shipments = $200/ea
Three (3) Shipments = $175/ea

Tucson / Phoenix, AZ ($100 surcharge)
One (1) Shipment = $250 (correct: should be $275, but read below)
Two (2) Shipments = $225/ea
Three (3) Shipments = $225/ea (correct: the same as two [2] Shipments, but read below)
Four (4) Shipments = $200/ea
Five (5) Shipments = $175/ea

(Nota Bene: It is technically a $100 surcharge to Tucson / Phoenix, AZ, indeed, but I cannot justify charging someone $275 for venomous transport, so the first Shipment out there I start at $250. And three [3] Shipments is the same as two [2] Shipments because I like increments of $25, and $100 doesn't divide well by three [3] LOL; I of course I round up in my favour given the expense and time to go out there.)

(Further Nota Bene: Just to clarify, this 'Addendum' has nothing to do with the Price Matrix above; id est, exempli gratia: If someone out there is getting two [2] Shipments, it will be $325 [per the Price Matrix] + whatever portion of the regional [Extended Territory] surcharge if applicable, whether $75, $50, $25 or $0.)

Basically, an Extended Territory surcharge is just for that: The territory, not per Stop or Shipment, so the $50 surcharge to El Paso for example, is divided over all Shipments associated with that Stop or region, or negated altogether if there are 3+ Shipments associated with that Stop or region (id est, multiple Stops in El Paso or surrounding area).

'The more, the merrier', which makes it more worthwhile to go to these Extended Territories where business is otherwise skimpy, if instead there is more business. I hate the idea of my surcharges, but I need to be fair to myself via not cutting my own throat...West Texas, Arizona, Wyoming and northern Minnesota aren't exactly cakewalks LOL.

Exceptionally large Shipments still incur their own surcharge (possibly on top of an Extended Territory Surcharge[s]), whether a single large animal (exempli gratia, an adult D. polylepis, O. hannah or Lachesis sp.), a large pair of animals (e.g., full-grown B. rhinoceros), or a gazillion animals. This is call a Large Shipment Surcharge, and it is typically $25 or $50.

...I will be hitting the road again on September 11. For those who are unaware of what all of this pertains to, please read my original ‘(VENOMOUS) ANIMAL DELIVERY SERVICE’ ad posted on 04 September 2020:, finally revamped on 07 May 2022, and read all of the positive feedback on the first of the aforementioned links (03 November 2020) before feedback of any kind--posted as Replies--was prohibited by Moderators for some time (but has long-since been allowed again - I just found out on 08 May 2023).

I will detail how the process works which is quite simple honestly, via a pre-typed description that I copy/paste to everyone, and over a phone call if need be. In the meantime, please check out the previous ads for an idea of how these itineraries work, the smooth flow n’ logical order of Pickups and Deliveries that is, and infer what You can.

As of September 30, I have 58 Shipments / 80 Stops lined up so far, here is the current itinerary (id est, more Stops [Shipments] will likely be added which, logically, will alter the itinerary, but which all affected Sellers and Customers [Recipients] will be apprised of renewed ETAs ASAP):

≈16,931 miles, divided by ≈35 MPG ≈ 484 gallons, times $3.823/gal (AAA National Average as of 9/30) ≈ $1,849 in gas, let alone wear n' tear (exempli gratia: full synthetic LOF every month/$102.94, tires every ≈3 months/$700), tolls ($150-$200/mo), food ($175-$200/mo), et cetera. Not that anyone has ever given me issue on my transport fee, knock on wood, and I thank You All for Your understanding and acceptance, but this is to explain why rates had increased in March 2022 and again in November 2022 should there ever be any question or complaint, and to further explain surcharges for Extended Territories (see above) which are extended because they have very few Clients / very little business, in which I need to compensate to go out to those territories for 1 or 2 Stops.

Please share these ads like wildfire! The more Shipments, the merrier! And as far as payment options and quotes, please inquire.

I thank You in advance for Your (continuing) patronage, especially in light (or darkness?) of "Operation Viper"!! I offer many benefits to my service, including but not limited to: Daily inspections with videos of each animal sent as proof (Customers love this!); conditional live arrival guarantee (see link above for terms and details); no special crating nor IATA labels; hand-delivery to Your home, work or public place of Your choice; flexibility and versatility including able to change course last minute (e.g. from home to work); direct communication (and timely responses) with the carrier of Your precious gems.

Give Obscure Gems Reptiles, LLC’s, Animal Transport Service a shot, You will not be disappointed!!

I want to thank You All for a great itinerary and setting new records this month:

Most Shipments: 58*
Most Stops in Texas: 17
Most Shipments Associated with Arizona: 07
Most Shipments Associated with California: 03
Most Days on the Road: 21 (not proud of this one LOL)
Most Miles: ≈17,000

*September 2022 holds the record at 64 Shipments; however, I believe seven (7) of those were personal animals that I otherwise wouldn't have sold if it wasn't for my breakup spiraling me into depression, so shall We say 57 last year, and thus, this September broke that record?

Lastly; as of August 2023, but starting with the July 03 itinerary, I have been keeping track of the number of Clients and, of more specific interest, how many of those are New (id est, First-Time) Clients, associated with each itinerary. I am contemplating making this a feature of the Facebook business page, and I may even try to figure out the numbers for January through June 2023. Here are this itinerary's stats:

58 Shipments
80 Stops
75 Total Clients
27 New Clients (of the 75)
21 Days

For comparison, here were the previous three (3) itineraries, going backwards:

08 AUGUST 2023
32 Shipments
43 Stops
45 Total Clients
11 New Clients (of the 45)
14 Days

26 JULY 2023
21 Shipments
33 Stops
34 Total Clients
12 New Clients (of the 34)
10 Days

03 JULY 2023
24 Shipments
33 Stops
32 Total Clients
09 New Clients (of the 32)
14 Days

NOTA BENE: When the Total Clients exceeds the Stops, this means there were Pickups and / or Deliveries at a reptile expo, such as there were at Hamburg on 8/5 and Pittsburgh on 8/6, and / or Shipments from / to me.
