like many other species, breeding season is when the days get shorter but the temp drop isn't very extreme. I'm not sure if everyone cools theirs. I would think maturity is probably the same as the other Candoias at about 2-3 years of age. I'm not sure how that relates to size of C. carinata carinata. This will be my first year breeding them so I don't have any personal experience to throw in unforunately, but I'll definitely be posting how it goes!

A cooling period is good to stimulate breeding, multiple males are definitely needed otherwise your counting on luck.

Thanks everyone for chiming in, I knew you were out there!

Re breeding - I have a different species of Candoia, but am presuming there are similarities. Mine are kept at natural temps in their home country, so this may be relevant... it gets cold here (night temps down to 70oF, brrr...) in June/ July /August, when the males in particular often stop feeding.

I've observed mating in late August / September after 2 cold months, and births in May/June.

I have 5 Candoia carinata carinata, great snakes. Sometimes (often) tough to get to feed on rodents. 3 of my 5 will take f/t rodents, 1 live rodents, and one won't touch mammals at all still.

I'm still on the outlook for 2-3 males (preferably Waigeo locale or high contrast, at least) if anyone is selling / knows a source.
