Killer! Is that genetic? Not that I'd be happy to see Kenyan sand boas lose their corner on the paradox market.

First we get Ruby-freckled snows, now we have Onyx-freckled amels! And we can't forget the Opals! Now you need to come up with a Diamond, or even better, a Sapphire!

Guess you're keeping this one!

If you crossed a red speckled axanthic with a black speckled amel, it would just explode upon hatching: agree or disagree?

What am i missing here? The snake obviously didnt play with a Permanent Marker So why does an Amelanistic snake have black in it?
Forgive my ignorance please

corn

Probably because there is a slight recessive trait for partial melanism. strange looking snake that.

Question

At this point, I would not even try to guess at the cause of this phenomenon. But I seem to get a couple oddities every year hatching out.

I have no idea whether it is something that can be predictably expressed genetically or not. I only have a few oddballs, and none are big enough to breed yet. There are a few more examples scattered in my SerpenCo photo gallery on my CornSnakes.com forums you may find of interest.

I think that you would be able to continue to express that trait again. Th emagic marker corn! melanism is an expressable trait and i think its no more than some stubborn melanism.
