Do your heating pads burn out fast?

I buy the regular ones you get in the Reptile stores and even use a thermostat but they only last 2-6 months. Any ideas? I only set the thermostat at 95 degrees.

Do you have them running through a surge protector?

I know the brand shouldn't matter, but what brand do you buy?

Do your heating pads burn out fast?
No but I sure do(burn out fast) Ha ha
It really seems like something or some element is making them burn out pretty quickly if you ask me,because I have some pads last years,so maybe its the element around pads like moisture, coil pinching or Iregular currents in your house?

The brand is Zoo Med. It's the largest sized pad I saw in the store. The cage is 4ft.X2ft.X2ft. It's NOT hooked up to a surge protector.

It still produces some heat, but it's definitly not 95 degrees which is what the thermostat is set at.

What temp is the room they are in usually they will only raise ambient temps abot 10-17 degreees in the cage.Example 70 degree room your only gonna raise pad temp to 85-87 or so a cold room will drag down even the best pads.
