OK, spider experts....

What kind of spider is this? This must be the year for them around here (north Florida) as they are ALL over the place!

Well, I'm far from a spider expert, that's why I have a field guide. It looks just like a photo of a Mabel Orchard Spider Leucauge mabelae in the Audubon field guide to North American Insects and Spiders.

That is exactly what it is , they seem to be communal or nomads, I can remember seeing many of those in Naples with webs about 3 feet off the ground but no higher than 10 feet. The web is rather week so I am guessing they eat small flying insects such as mosquitos and black flies, [so leave them alone Rich] the males are bigger in legspan but smaller in body.
They also seem to shed legs when handled a bit too rough
