Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Lost Corn Snake
My Son's Corn Snake escaped about 8 months ago. We looked everywhere, however we did not find it. Last we my daughter saw it in the gas fireplace. Before we could get the fireplace door open in vanished into a vent and is gone again. It has grown significantly, what is it eating, and where is it getting water. More importantly, how can we catch it? A mouse for bait?
Thanks.

A couple of tricks i have heard is flour around the perimeter of the room in hopes of the snake going thru it and leaving a track to its location. I have all so heard that if you take a 2 liter bottle cut the top off. turn it around so that it is top facing in and tape that together putting a mouse inside. The top working as a funnel will allow the snake in for its meal but the snake is not suppose to be able to find its way out.
I have never tried either but those are tips i have heard of. The all so make commerical snake traps or snake traps made for around the home you can purchase online. Just do a google and you can find some.

If it is cold at night where you live turn down the heat. Put a heating pad on med and a box with a small cut out on the side and place it in a dark corner someplace close to where he excaped or try a few. Dont disturb it and put some water in it also leave it for a day or two then check it. You might be surprised. Good luck

We found the snake! My daughter pointed out that it is a milk snake not a corn snake. In any event, it was lost for ten months and seems to be fine. It is a bit thin and we fed it two mice. Ten months inside a house with no food or water that I am aware of. We have never seen any mice or mice droppings in our house, I have no idea what it ate, maybe bugs?
Thanks for your suggestions, we were about to make some traps when we found the snake in the kitchen. It has grown at least a foot!
