Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

more macro shots...
...but they aren't of the Eublepharid kind! 'Aliens' have re-invaded my herp collection...

A Rhacodactylus has once again found sanctuary within my herp collection. I regretfully sold my first pair of cresteds a little under 2 years ago. As much as I'm not for getting animals from large chain stores, this (what appears to be a girl) critter I just couldn't resist getting at $69.95, especially after watching her go from about 2 inches long to about 5-6 inches now.

Hey Chris
Are you shooting Canon equipment? I know webslave is using nikon(dark side) lenses on his fuji camera. I shoot Canon(light side), but don't own any good macro lenses. One other quick question, did you use a ring flash or just overhead lights.
I hear you on the petstore purchase, but I picked up two little tremper albinos the other day since they were the same price as normals, and I wanted them to go to a good home.
Awesome images!!!!!!!

Thanks for the pix Chris . . . .
. . . I love the macro shots of rhacs - because there's so much detail on their skin that we usually miss.
That tiger is nice too - it almost looks like a brindle.
Thanks again.

I guess I'm dark side...
I'm shooting with a Nikon Coolpix 4500. Canon's close, but nothing beats a nikon. It's like trucks: Chevy built like a rock (cause that's all they do is sit there, like a rock), or Ford. I'm a Ford man myself.
And yes, I'm using a ring. It's the Nikon SL-1 macro cool-light.
My next decision is Nikon 8700 + accessories or to go DSLR. DSLR is/will be out of my price range on certain lenses and other accessories that I'll need.

I'm a Fuji man. Saving up for the S3 when it's realeased.
Dynamic range is unmatched. Not the most awe inspiring shot, but it serves as a good example

OK, so it's not a reptile, but I do not own a macro lens for my Canon. I own a Canon D30 which I bought a few yeasr back and have not replaced yet. I am going to be getting the Canon 1DS though. I do own one of the Canon 600mm f/4 lenses for wildlife photography. Come over the the white side - Canon rocks.

I don't want to hijack this topic.....I was about 20 feet away from the bird. A 600 has a lot of reach and the D30's cmos is equivilant to a 1.6 teleconverter so I usually have more reach than too little. I really need to get a good macro lens so I don't have to use a 50mm to shoot gecko images.
