Another option that you may want to consider is changing to a tub set-up. All of mine are kept in either a rack or a Sterilite tub set-up at a constant 55% humidity, with no misting required - even during shed. I never soak and they all have complete sheds with no problems. Tubs also seem to keep your temps more stable, eliminating the need for anything other than a UTH on a thermostat.

I have thought about it but wonder because of the heat tape. Wouldn't that heat everything under it? I have the tank sitting on a book shelf and the only reason it is there is becuase the UTH is recessed up into the tank a little bit.
