Spring!!!!!

On account of school the gardens had got weedy; but I spent several days of spring break clearing stuff out. Still got to mulch and put in the veggie garden but I love spring, everything is budding out, some of the roses are already blooming!
I had bought several roses with that peculiar denial that plant people have, I read the descriptions of 30 foot roses bushes and bought anyway not really picturing in my mind what these huge climbers can be, several years ago.
Those climbers are really beginning to come into their own this year, thank goodness I have fencing and thus room for them. The Mermaid shrub will easily reach 30 feet this year if I let it, it is at the back of the property protecting a length of chain link fence that makes my property accessible from the road a couple hundred feet up. Now, with this rose bush's particularly wicked thorns, no one will come over the fence.
I have tons of salvia coming up after starting some different kinds a couple years ago.
All in all, it looks like the gardens will be really pretty in a month or two.

I'll have to take some pics of the goodies I have got growing so far. I decided to get the seedlings started indoors this year and then move them out to the yard. With the weather changing on a dime here it's seems to be the smart thing to do.

The perennials are starting to sprout up and I can't wait for them to bloom. Last fall I buried a mixture of tulip, iris and daffodil bulbs. Then around them I am going to plant a bunch of flowering annuals.

I just need the weather to even out a bit.
