I agree with your point of course. It was just a matter of what I understood by the term thermoregulation. My point was that given a constant ambient temperature, and no possibility of a warm or cool spot where to retreat there was no chance of modifying the core temperature. The only exception would be pregnant boas and female pythons incubating a clutch, but in both cases (and as far as know) they both will increase their body temperature regardless of the ambient temperature. That's why I was assuming the term thermoregulation was not strictly accurate as they just increase their temperature, even if it's warm outside. Nice discussion!
