I agree with your point of course. It was just a matter of what I understood by the term thermoregulation. My point was that given a constant ambient temperature, and no possibility of a warm or cool spot where to retreat there was no chance of modifying the core temperature. The only exception would be pregnant boas and female pythons incubating a clutch, but in both cases (and as far as know) they both will increase their body temperature regardless of the ambient temperature. regulation was not strictly accurate as they just increase their temperature, even if it's warm outside. Nice discussion!
