What size do you guys recomend for an adult pair to be kept in. Probably a year round thing to get a good breeding progran started. Thanks in advance

For full grown adults, 4x2 and 18-24 inches high. They are big and they are active, they will use the room. Climbing areas are appreciated as well.
As for breeding however, you will find you get better results if the pair is not housed together on a constant basis. They should at least be seperated for 2-3 months prior to the breeding season, but housing seperate outside of breeding introductions is best.
If they're housed together all the time it can interfere with breeding response, whereas a male that suddenly finds a female in his territory is extremely interested in the brand new scents and fresh stimulation. Breeding is all he'll be thinking about.

I have noticed with taiwans that when housed seperately they'll breed most anytime they're introduced regardless of the season. Of course this will normally not result in eggs outside the breeding season, but shows the level of interest when not around each other constantly.

So would 4' by 2' by 2' cages be good for singles if not housed together and then put them together to get them to breed? How long does it take for them to become sexually mature? If the make and female were in different cages but stacked 1 on the other, would breeding still take place?

4x2x2 cages would be fine for single adults.
They can be sexually mature at 18 months. I've had a females first clutch in the incubator before she turned 2 years old.
Taiwans are nothing like our north american colubrids. They have a very high metabolism which translates to a high food requirement, especially for younger snakes. They have fast growth rates, a 12 month old can be four feet long easily. That growth rate is not pushing them, it's just the way they are. I always referred to them as the burmese python of colubrids.

Nope, they have to actually be placed together for breeding to occur.
