4x2x2 cages would be fine for single adults.
They can be sexually mature at 18 months. I've had a females first clutch in the incubator before she turned 2 years old.
Taiwans are nothing like our north american colubrids. They have a very high metabolism which translates to a high food requirement, especially for younger snakes. They have fast growth rates, a 12 month old can be four feet long easily. That growth rate is not pushing them, it's just the way they are. I always referred to them as the burmese python of colubrids.

Nope, they have to actually be placed together for breeding to occur.
