We also started a group on Facebook to try and unite all those affected by these laws.

I wonder how long before we hear what is being announced today. Still keeping fingers crossed they leave it as is and don't add anymore species.
I know I kept a link, looking for it now.

I feel for my friends ... this decision is crap.

So now reticulated pythons and anacondas will slowly start to disappear from the hobby. Just like the burmese python.

USARK will be amending its complaint first thing Monday morning and then filing an injunction so that FWS can't enforce the new regulation until after the case has concluded. If the judge approves the injunction then it would be at least a year, most likely longer as the federal court system moves slowly, before the rule would take effect (assuming USARK loses the court battle).

I've been urging people to get their hands on a pair of any of the banned species so that they can keep the animals circulating in the pet trade of their state. It won't make you money and you'll actually likely have problems getting rid of offspring, but you may make some new anaconda/retic lover's day by having them available even if only occasionally.

That would be a good thing.

I just added a female retic this week and as soon as I can get the logistical issues worked out for QT I'm getting a male.

This sucks. My local reptile group is laughing/celebrating and shitting on anyone who is less than thrilled with the ban, or who thinks other reptiles will come next. Super depressing to see reptile people attacking the hobby like that. I hope that my area isn't indicative of the average herp keepers attitude towards these legislative/exectuive acts...
