Abby needs prayers again.

I don't know where to start.

When Mom woke up on Sunday, there were blood spots in the bed where Abby lays, and when Mom tried to pet her, touch her or pick her up, she whined.

We took Abby-her doxy-to the emergency vet...who basically said she had head trauma. The MORON.

Monday, she followed up with the family vet who said she has a genetic autoimmune blood disorder. Ran tests, gave fluids and meds.

She was doing very well yesterday and all day today.

Today, some of the tests were back, but not all of them. The ones that came back said that her platelets are low. VERY LOW. She could bleed out.

Gave fluids, gave antibiotics for opportunistic infections, gave steroids, ran more tests, vet said he'd call back tomorrow with more results and to check on Abby.

Tonight, when Mom picked her up to put her on her bed, she fell over side-ways when Mom placed her on her feet on the bed.

She's on her way to a SECOND emergency hospital as I type.

Please...say a prayer for Abby-for whatever is best for her.

I just talked to the vet and Abby may need a transfusion because she's getting shocky.

Oh Sam I'm sorry!! Poor pup! I'll burn some root and sage and send Up a prayer in the smoke, to Grandfather for dear Abby! Such a sweet looking Pup!

When Mom called just a little while ago, she asked me what I thought about the whole ordeal...and what she should do, since they don't know for sure what's wrong with Abby.

I asked her if Abby's had a good life, if she was a happy dog, and if she wanted to keep Abby alive to take more tests, only to possibly find out there's nothing we can do for her...and if Abby would be comfortable.

Then I read her The Pet's Prayer-

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is
more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your
hand between the blows, your patience and understanding
will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the worlds sweetest music, as

falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a
domesticated animal, no longer used to the elements. And I ask no

She said she was going back in to ask a few more questions of the Dr.

So...Abby's in God's Hands now...and Mom's.

I have no idea what she's going to do.

It's going to be a long night.
