CATTARAUGUS, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Village of Cattaraugus woman is facing charges, after police found 22 cats and kittens at her house.
Police ran a driver's license check of 39-year-old Jennifer Beck on Tuesday. While at her resident on Washington Street, police noticed many cats in the yard and seven kittens in a cage.
Police contacted the SPCA, the code enforcement officer and landlord.
On Wednesday, police exercised a search warrant.
The cats and kittens were removed and the building was deemed dangerous and uninhabitable until clean up can be completed.
Utilities had been off for several weeks.
Beck will be in New Albion Court later in July to answer charges.
