Road hunting ban in Texas

SB 275 has been introduced in the Texas Senate to exempt reptiles, amphibians and insects from the road hunting ban. Hopefully all of us that enjoy herping in Texas can support SB275 and get this road hunting ban lifted.

I have to admit that I wouldn't mind road cruising for graybanded kings sometime before I die. Hopefully Connie and I will be able to do some travelling this upcoming year, and Texas is definitely on my list to spend some time in.

That's encouraging news. One of the most exciting moments of my "herp life" was pulling my first alterna off a cut in Loma Alta.

I have a similar memory in 1989 in Langtry.

just spent a summer in las cruces in 06 .. 35 minutes from el paso.. love to get out on the dirt roads till 1:00 in the morning.. and check out the desert especially after a rain and listen to the spade foots, watch the lightning , and enjoy the beauty of the desert at night . pullin on the side of a road cutting and checking out spiney swifts collecting a few legal specimans for reasearch and development for the scientific and herpitolocigal communities they should be more worried about the illigal border jumpers and drug smugglers and stop making excuses and scapegoats for what's really goin on..border patrol needs to step up.. the b.l.m. needs to step up not make stopping on the road illegal becausde it looks susspicious why any one wants to ugly it up with red tape... them people with there white collars and forked toungues they do nothing but abuse their authority and violate civil rights its all over ...unless we start to stand up for what we believe in if you believe in herpitology, herpitoculture , and the hystoric value of reptiles and amphibians that have been around here since the beginning of TIME ..
