Hello all,
I just wanted to share with you some pictures and such of a Burmese python I rescued yesterday. The owner was being stationed on a military base and couldn't take either of his snakes (Burmese and RTB) and was looking for someone to care for them. Me, and my bleeding heart for all things scaly, was the person willing to care for them.
When I picked them up I was astonished with what I saw. The burm has rat bites all over her body, but mainly in the neck area, and she also has these marks that look like bruises. I soaked her in a warm bath (she is in shed) and it facilitated a bowel movement that was mainly urate, which leads me to believe she hasn't been fed in a while.
The RTB is is a little better condition, minus the fact that part of the top of its mouth looks like its been chewed off.
I am mainly focusing on the burm here though as she seems to have more pertinent injuries.
I apologize for the quality of the pictures, my phone camera is not the best...
I guess the reason I came here and made this post is because I am looking for some...advice...I guess you would call it. I plan on making a vet apt for her to get her checked out, but in the meantime if anyone has ever seen "bruises" like the ones pictured and can tell me what the heck its from I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance!
