Question why does my pin like hiding under his water bowl

does anyone have a idea why he likes hiding under his water bowl and or his newspaper/paper towel instead of inside of his hide i have him in a rack with 4 others (in separate tubs) and he is the only one that does it

Is the hide black also? Maybe he's just stubborn!

tight dark places its what ball pythons like, the tighter the better makes them feel secure.

Bunch of my snakes do it to. I changed my new tubs around I bought plastic bowls at dollar store glued one down to tub other sits on glued one. I hate spilled water everywhere so far this has worked. Gotta convert old tubs next

hmm, maybe the bowl is smaller? they like cramped spots to hide. plus if the bowl is ceramic it might be keeping humidity better.

so i decided to try something and remove his hide and give him another bowl that is identical to the one he likes one has was and the other none well dont matter where i place the bowls he still goes for the same one over and over again i even thought it had something to do with the water that was in it so i emptied it and filled the other still no change i guess he just really likes that bowl
