So has my computer gone whacky or is it happening with everyone else too? What I mean is, does the pop up about the server change come up with every screen change you make on this site? Every time I navigate this site the pop up comes back, I am hoping that my PC is not screwing up, I have been having other problems with it lately that I hoped were fixed, but maybe not if this is unique to my machine.

Glenn,

It's not your computer alone. It's driving me nuts too!!

Best regards.

Well I now have made triple sure that my email address is ok, so I guess it has had its desired effect.

If you minimize the pop up when it first appears instead of closing it then it will not "pop up" on every screen but rather stay minimized. At least this works on IE 6 on an XP machine.

Folks, yes I know the popups are a pain in the butt, but I need to get this message out to all members to this site about their passwords. I don't know of any other way to do it. So if you all have any suggestions, I'm all ears.

And before you ask, no, there is no way to email all of the registered members as a group.

As Daniel has pointed out, if you simply minimize the popup instead of closing it, you will not have it continually popping up with every page change. The software I am running does not have the smarts to limit the display by IP addresses or any other way that would strike a reasonable balance between making sure as many people as possible see the popup and it is not overly burdensome. So I had to choose between one or the other.

The alternative is for me to be absolutely inundated with emails from people unable to log on when I do the conversion. I know it's going to happen anyway, but I would like to try to limit it somewhat.

Sorry about this. I have not used popups at all in the past, because I hate the darn things myself, but this is a situation that I feel warrants the intrusion.

Heck with it. I took off the pop up.

If people get dropped off during the conversion, they can just register again.

Sorry.

Did not mean for you to drop the message to the other users. I really thought there had to be something wrong with my PC. I had something similar happen recently. Pages I tried to sign off of would go off for a split second, then just reappeared after I clicked to close them. I don't even know what I did to fix it, but it does not happen anymore after lots of cursing at my computer.

I would not mind the pop ups now that I know my PC is ok and that I could just minimize it to keep it at bay!

Thanks for looking into it though, I gotta say you certainly are on the ball with your web site, and with the feedback you get from your users. Thanks again.

Best regards,
Glenn

I am going to let the popup run over the weekend. I'll shut it down again sometime on Monday and then probably start it back up on the following Friday.

Remember to minimize the popup so it won't pop up again everytime you change pages on this site.

Sorry............

Actually Rich, minimizing isn't working. I'm still getting a popup everytime I change a page. So far I've only been on your site today for about 5 minutes. I've only read a few postings and I've already got 16 notices minimized at the bottom of my screen. I'm using Windows 98 and IE 5.5
