Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Talkin' ads scarin' the bejeesus outta me
It has happened a couple times in the last few weeks. There I am mindin' my own business looking for some info on the net and ALL OF A SUDDEN there are voices (no, not in my head  ) real voices from some AD!
Startles me, gets the dogs barking. And I can't always figure out how to shut the ad down right away. So it keeps talking and the dogs keep barking and they can't figure it all out.
Has this happened to you?

Yep... Ive ran across those a few times.... and Im always trying to figure out where the X is so I can kill it. It normally happens when Im surfing at work 
Of course you want scared.... back when I was younger my folks bought a new answering machine (that I didnt know about) and the fool thing talked. Me and my buddy came into the house one night well after dark and my folks were gone camping. I no more than walked thru the door when I heard.... YOU HAVE ..... that's all I heard cause I knocked my buddy down and out of the way trying to back peddal. The voice was between me and my guns.... this was not good.
When it reality it was the fool machine saying... you have one new message. All I knew was some dude was in the house that shouldnt have been. Afterwards It was pretty funny.... but during.... not funny at all. I went and got the gun out of my buddys truck and cleared the house room by room.

Used to have that happen alot, but I tried something that seemed to help. If the ad is displayed visually on the webpage as well, right click it and select 'Properties'. and take note of the URL address shown. Then go into your IE Options, Security tab, and find the 'Restricted Sites' icon. Click it once, then click the 'Sites' button and add the base URL to the list. When you restart your browser, it should prevent the ad from loading.

Lucille, it has happened to me. I keep the sound/speakers off so I don't have to be blasted by annoying music or ads.

Shoot yeah.... Its hard NOT to man up when your armed and dangerous. Its a good thing they didnt go buy a dog and didnt tell me.... rover would have been in trouble
