I keep them HOT--like the monitor approach. I experimented with it, and I've found that my guys (1.1 chacoan, 1.1 arg red) prefer the hot temps. I also use uvb which many people say you dont need--but again I did some testing and they seem to respond to the uvb. They also like it bright vs dark.
Substrate--I like cypress mulch and soil-- pretty deep so they can move it around--they seem to like to "arrange" their enclosure.
Bathing--yes--they seem to like it and it helps with sheds. During the summer I take them outside for spraydowns and baths.
I fed mine daily as babies, now I still feed every other day or so or my red male tries to attack and break down his enclosure.
lots of turkey, rodents, fruit, some veggies...insects as babies, less as adults
Not feeding--well, a lot of people suggest not to feed eggs, although I will on occasion.
