Ok, people. I am not looking for ideas, just opinions.

I have tried a plethora of different bulbs in my many enclosures.

I would like to have some opinions from you guys concerning the use of Flourescent vs. Mecury Vapor bulbs. I am referring to their UVB/UVA properties and not their heat properties.

If you do post an opinion, could you also post which brand and the specifics about that brand. ie. Exo Terra 8.0 Flourescent or T-Rex Active UVB 100 wt flood, and so on.

So far, I have had bad luck concerning the use of the Mecury Vapor Bulbs, especially the Zoo Med ones. Well in all actuality, I have had very bad luck with all Zoo-Med bulbs including there Halogens. I have tried Nature Zone, Zoo Med, and T-Rex. But I have also heard that there is a new Mecury Vapor bulb out that does not have a filament but has the same properties of a 160 wt flood. I was told it was called the Active UV Heat Super 60. It is a 60 watt bulb, that has no heating properties, so you must also use a basking bulb, so I've been told.

Hopefully, I am trying to find which bulb is better. I have yet to have a Mecury Vapor Bulb last more than 6 months even though they are supposed to last a year. And for those who try and prove I am using the bulbs improperly, I use the proper domes that prevent the bulb from touching the enclosure and have the proper wattage guidlines, and yes, they are all kept on a level surface.
