Hey Verm related question: Do you toss it out once you use it for incubation or is it safe to sterilize and reuse? Do you recommend a particular method of washing and sterlizing (if that's even a good idea)?

I live in Humboldt County, so finding it isn't an issue for me. I have at least two hydroponic/indoor growing specialty shops within walking distance and probably ten in short range driving. XD

We use it to incubate eggs, not grow M********. lol jk i know what you are talking about. I have done both reused and used new each time. Depends on how it is after everything has hatched. I typically just use new each time though to much of a hassle to try and clean it when you can dump it out and use new substrate each time.

Cool! Thanks It's occasionally frustrating living with the culture here, but there sure are some really fancy stores with amazing devices and doohickeys that I can use for my snake setups, ha ha! I think I won't bother reusing since the stuff tends to be quite cheap and storing it for next season will probably be more of a pain than saving a little money.

i agree, it does make sense just to toss it out and get some more. I understand about going into other stores that have nothing to do with reptiles and im like hmmmmm i can use that in the snake room....lol.

Me? strictly no substrate at all. Simple, no hassle with water in your substrate. And I've had a 100% sucess rate.
