Breeding feeders

I've been breeding my own mice and rats for a little while now, started off with high quality petco stock. Is there any product that is safe to use on them and for my snakes, that will kill or repel the little creapy crawlies that live on them? I feed frozen to most of my collection, but I have a couple that are kind of hit and miss on FT, so they get live from time to time.

Husbandry issues

Helllo either you got the rodets that way or you have improper husbandry that has allowed these things to happen. it is better to just get rid of all the rodents, break down the cages clean and disinfect everything and get new stock from a different source. You should also just breed all your feeders!

I'm referring to any kind of tick/mite/flea that small mammals may get. I'm looking more as a preventative than anything else.

If your mice are started clean, are kept clean, and protected from other animals getting at them, as they should be, you shouldn't have to worry about them getting "critters".

As long as you are not breeding insects in the same location you can spray the cages with Provent-a-Mite once a month. You can also use ProZap Insect Guard strips if they are in an area with no breeding insects and no human occupants.
