Question On Killing/Freezing Feeders

Hello everyone. I just recently aquired my first large snake, a 6 ft blood python. He is feeding on f/t giant rats and small rabbits. I was going to just buy some f/t feeders from rodent pro or some other company, but since I used to raise rabbits I know a lot of breeders who could provide me with feeders. Anyway to get to the point. I found a person who has live rabbits she will sell me for cheap, but I have never killed rabbits before so I was wondering how I would go about doing this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Abigail - the most humane way would be to set up a CO2 chamber. There are a couple of discussions on how to do this. I'll try to dig them up for you later

Its not by any means easier or less expensive than the above methods but I have also heard of people putting the animals in a sealed container and placing some dry ice in there and that kills the animal humanely.
Thoughts on that method? The biggest flaw I've heard with it is how hard it is for average joe to get a hold of dry ice.

Thanks for all of your input. I have decided to go with the CO2 chamber. I went to Wal-Mart the other day and bought a 9oz CO2 tank, since I don't have many feeders to kill. Only bad thing is that Wal-Mart doesn't fill tanks or sell the little remote with the quick release, so now I have to find a store who might. I might just look on eBay though. Luckily I'm not in a rush to build it right now as all of my feeders are too small... But I will be needing to get it together soon. Thanks again!

Most places that deal with paintballing should have CO2 & all the equipment you need. Check with local paintball clubs for info on where they get their equipment
