Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Flemish Giants vs New Zealands as feeders
I recently switched from breeding Flemish Giants to New Zealands for feeders. The NZ's are smaller, but they are supposed to produce larger and more often litters.
Does anyone else breed rabbits as feeders? If so what kind?

New Zealands are fast breeders and a lot better then flemish giants...Anyways breeding rabbits aint easy and sometimes you will be dissapointed at low producing does....

Well I have been breeding 5 NZ's and one pair of Flemish all summer and although some had bad first litters, I have had awesome results. I did invest in an automatic water system and I do get the 18% protien feed as opposed to the crappy cheap feed.
The NZ's consistantly produce, and produce larger litters, but having the Flemish and growing up the babies for a few months is well worth it for my bigger snakes.
I think as long as people know that raising rabbits will take a lot more time and money than the snakes the rabbits are feeding, then I would recommend it for those with bigger collections of big snakes.
