its not the best diet for him because they eat a large variety of prey items in the wild. A diet of only mice wil certainly shorten its life span a little. If possible use fresh killed mice and preload the mice once a week with vitamins. One thing to remember about pixies - DONT LET THEM DRY OUT!!! always have a place available for the to soak. If away from water to long they cover themselves with a film and try to wait for water again but if they go to long they will shrivel up and die.

If you dont let him get too big too fast he will live longer. i have seen people power feed them to only have them die at 16-24 months of age.

That is very short considering I have looked at websites that have said there life expectancy in the wild is as much as 40 years. It seems to make sense that that might be possible, because they burrow in and can hibernate usually up to 8 months. That much rest, seems to lengthen there life. I was thinking of trying estivate my frogs to lengthen there life and simulate there wildlife patterns. I heard this too might be risky.
