Looking for a "hot" snake mentor in Los Angeles

I am interested in eventually keeping venomous snakes. Just wondering if there are any herpers in my area who are EXPERIENCED with hot species, that I could maybe volunteer my time helping out in exchange for getting to observe and learn from them. I'm in no hurry to have my own; I expect it will take several years before I have the knowledge and experience to keep them myself. Just looking for a mentor to learn from.
Thanks,
Beth

Shannon Beard
Hello, My name is Shannon and I do keep some of the Calif. native rattlesnakes. C.ruber, C.scut., and C.mitchilli. I live just up the coast from Malibu in Port Hueneme. You are welcome to visit any day of the week. I'm home alot. I have some experience with cobras also. I have 25 years with HOTS. Not alot to do around here but you may visit my snakes and perhaps learn something.

You could also try the Southwestern Herpetologists Society, I think they are in the Valley.
