On a serious note, for just a moment:
How one feels is up to oneself. Naturally, there are some circumstances that might lend themselves to feeling one way or the other, but in general, one makes one's own world.
Part of what I do involves visiting families in their homes. I sometimes see families that are extremely poor and don't have much in the way of physical comforts and luxuries, yet they are clearly happy, and have a strong bond with the other family members.
Conversely, I see some wealthy clients that are miserable and the family members barely look at one another. Of course there are both happy and miserable people in each group mentioned, but my point is that it is not life's circumstances that give us joy. Life is what
you choose to make of it.
