Taming a leo.

I'm very new to leo, i got mine about two month ago. I have never handled him yet. I feed him by hand giving him his mealies one by one with my hand. He sometimes picks them directly in my hand (when he miss, he pick my finger...lol). When i try to get my hand real close of him so he can climb in he get scared and goes into his hiding spot. Should i continue like that ? Or with a more aggressive approach ? meaning picking him right up ? He's a juvie...6 inch long.

I would suggest going for a little more aggressive approach and picking him up. At first just hold him for very short periods, maybe only a minute or two. Be careful he doesn't jump out of your hand. Leo's are not known for looking before they leap. And of course remember to never, ever try to restrain him by holding his tail, it will fall off. This is how we handle our babies and it works well. they do settle down after a while, it just takes some time.
