Fire Belly Newt Info PLEASE

Hey, I have a friend at a vet school who is desperately seeking referanced information on the toxicity of fire belly newts when consumed or chewed by dogs.
She has looked in every book she can think of, and I said I'd ask the experts here.
So any ideas?

I'm by no means an expert and use to handle them regularly and never had a problem (eyes). But of course I have never had my dog chew on them!

Regards.

Firebelly Newts

I've worked with them before with no problems either. I know Firebelly Toads have a bufotoxin that will keep predators away, maybe they were mixing the two up?

I'll let her know, but it is definately fire belly newts. A professor always brings this up, and no one can find referances.
