i bred my male sunglow motley corn to my female candy cane. they started to hatch today. what should i get? 2 of them are out of the egg. they have patternless belly's but not a typical motley pattern. im not sure of the colors yet ill know better after the first shed then ill post a pic.
are they sunglow motleys het candy cane?
candy canes het motley?
or something in between
i have heard that the candy canes are from selective breeding and not a genetic trait. let me know what you think.
thanks kirk
well as far as why would i interbreed these 2 phases? last year the candycane female laid about a dozen slugs not 1 fertile. so i decided to breed her with a know good male to see weather it was her infertility or his. now i know

Well, since the bellies are plain, you have yourself some amelanistic motley hatchlings.  The rest that aren't plainbelly are simply amels.

Why?  Well, not all motleys have the full dorsal pattern.  It's the belly pattern (or rather, lack thereof) that matters.

As for the amel bit, sunglows and candy canes are simply fancy amelanistic phases the way miami is a phase, so you might see some sunglow or candycane influence, but the resulting hatchlings are not sunglow or candy cane unless they appear to be so as adults.
