anyone keep dwarf seahorses?

All of ours are rescues--we're not 100% sure if any are actually pure's or not, though the lab, and one of the Rotties looks like it. The Rottie in the front is the newest addition, my husband picked her up on the side of the road a few months ago, and we never could find a home for her. We're still somewhat looking, as three dogs and a baby (almost 2 now) are a handful--and we're nuts enough to want another baby...some days at least!!

I personally would love to keep her, as she's a sweetie, and I love Rotties, plus most people are scared of them, which is a bonus when I'm outside with them and someone tries to use our yard as a shortcut...

The fourth dog Fly I have had a little over 4 years. I adopted her as soon as I got my own place. The Rotti I adopted last summer (2003), as a friend that worked with the SPCA said if they (SPCA) took him he would be put to sleep due to his breed and the fact that he had been living outside his whole life. He has the husly aloofness, but does like a good snuggle.

The blue merle Aussie was a gift last year from an old rich guy trying to woo me. She is a pet shop dog and due to learning to "go potty" on a wire mesh floor, house breaking her was a long long nightmare. She is also very timid of everything, although there couldn't be a more snuggly dog!

The second Aussie was brought to me by someone who had just had a baby, and for some reason wanted to be rid of the dog she had raised up for 7 years from a pup. This dog had been "dog aggressive" but five minutes with the other Aussie (who LIVES to play with others) and I haven't seen any aggression to another dog yet!

I think my saving grace is the local leash free dog park. I have a small yard, so I walk them twice a day to do "business" and then let them run in the yard, but the huge dog park really allows them to let off some steam!

I do get in quite a few requests fortaking in dogs, although I run a small REPTILE rescue and not a dog one. It breaks my heart that I can't take all of them.

You're both right! He's a Corgi-Aussie mix. Well, we think he is, anyway. His mom is a Pembroke Corgi. Her owner sent her off to be bred to a Pembroke male, but most of the pups came out blue! Since blue is NOT a pembroke color, she emailed the breeder and asked her what else could have gotten to her. Anyway, the breeder never responded, just sent the stud fee back. So I got a free puppy! We think the father must have been either Aussie or Blue Heeler. The consensus opinion has been Aussie, but we will never know. The other possibility is that the pembroke stud had cardigan in his bloodline, but I kinda doubt it. Anyway, he goes to work with me everyday (I work for a vet), and I've had many people tell me they have seen cardigans that look just like him.

I also have 4 dogs. Dexter, a dachund-poodle mix. Bogey, a registered pembroke corgi. Jake, a jack russell terrier. And Shorty, the corgi mix. Shorty is ~6 months old now. Here's a collage of the boys I made the other day.

Melissa, all of your babies are adorable!! I'm no longer feeling quite as crazy for having 4 dogs now either!!

Danni, we got the lab, Ebony 5 years ago, she's about 6, same for the chow/shep? mix, Ricky. Trinity is the Rottie mix we got almost 3 years ago, making her almost 4, and the new Rottie, Honey, is almost a year old now, being about 9 months or so when my husband picked her up. They're all super, and for the most part get along well. Honey is a bit food/toy aggressive, though we're working on that....I wish I could take in more, but I really think that would earn me a free trip to the insane assylum!

dose any one have any info on dwarf seahorse like if they work good with neon gobies and peppermint srhimp or to buy them

You CANNOT keep dwarf seahorses with anything else. You might get away with very small snails. NO shrimp, especially not peppermint shrimp, and no gobies, or fish of any type.
Try to get some captive bred dwarfs, and you might find someone who has them feeding on frozen foods. Otherwise, you have to hatch brine for them EVERY day. No feeding brine from the store, they have to be fresh hatched.
Dwarf seahorses(or any seahorse species) are very high maintanance and not for the light of heart. They are extremely rewarding to own and watch, as long as you're willing to set them up correctly and raise them responsibly.
