Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Book / Site recommendation
Having tried to find a guide to breeding that isn't so basic that it doesn't actually say anything or too scientific that it's too hard for me to understand I have become lost. Please help me.
I am interested in breeding my ball in the near future as a 1 or 2 time project so that I can use it as a learning experience for my daughters and their friends. The babies would go to each of the families (for free) that would like to participate in my "project" (and of course agree to care for them).
I have kept snakes for over a decade but never bred. Can anyone recommend a book or site that really walks you through the abc's of setting up a breeding project from picking the mate to what is needed, and what steps to take along the way?
I realize that the best method is to learn from an expert and get hands on experience but I haven't found that opportunity. I also understand that no book or site will guarantee a successful hatch, but I am looking for one that will be as close to learning from an expert as possible.

Here are a couple of sites that keeps it simple yet informative. If you have any specific questions after reading these sites be sure to ask. Most folks here are more than happy to help.

Keep in mind very few breeders do things exactly the same way. You will see that many do certain things very similar, but all of us have our own little differences here and there throughout the process. So dont get thrown off by that. There are many right ways to accomplish successful breeding. Good luck and again, dont hesitate to ask questions, ask questions and then ask even more questions.

I agree!
Also, Ball Pythons in the Wild DVD has a great tool that can be printed out and used as a guide. You can find it by putting the DVD in the computer.

The best book out there by far is VPI's Pythons of the world Pt. 2 - Ball pythons.
There isn't a single book out there that covers nearly as much as that book...

Best of luck to you in your endeavor in breeding ball pythons. It is fun and the experience alone is very rewarding and exciting. The feeling of coming home, or waking up to eggs is a great one!
