Any transmission pro's out there ?

Backing up my truck yesterday and all of a sudden Bam - like I hit something, but nothing there to hit, and no reverse at all - put it in park, and back to reverse and a big clunk, and I had reverse again...

I had to go in to work today for a while, and I use the truck for work and it was fine all day - no noises, switches gears fine, had reverse and all that good stuff - Stopped at the quickie mart on the way home, came out started the truck and put it into reverse and there is none whatsoever - Had to push the truck out of the parking spot out in the open to where I could just drive forward back home - While in drive, it seems just fine - switches gears normally, no noise, ect... Just no reverse at all.

Fluids are good, and the truck is maintained - I called around all the checkers, autozone, ect around here to see if they could pull drivetrain codes off the obd, but none had the proper reader to do so - looks like I have to take her into a tranny shop to get the codes pulled - It's a 2001 ford ranger 4.0 with the auto tranny, and I just hit 72k on the truck today - Any ideas of what I'm looking at here ?

Thanks
