Question Feeding Question(s)

I have both Crested and Leopard Geckos. I have managed to get the cresteds off of crickets and I want to do the same with my leopards. (my husband hates the crickets-doesn't mind the worms in the fridge )
Does anyone feed lobster roaches and.or silkworms?
Do they come small enough to feed babies and juveniles?
I always have a bowl of mealies available but I have read that it is best to vary their diet somewhat.

Also if you keep silkworms and/or roaches-- How easy are they to care for?
What do you gutload them with?

Like I said- I have read that these are both nutritious but I would like to here from people that actually feed these to thier leos!

Thank you so much for your help!

Sincerely,
Suzanne :-)

Hi Suzanne,
I don’t use silkworms but I do use lobster roaches. They are excellent feeders but they do climb. This can make them somewhat hard to work with. If you don’t have very many leos you can use the pinching technique. This is where you crush their heads and place them in a dish where they are then eaten…

If you don’t like the lobster you might want to look into the non-climbers such as orange heads, discoid, orange spot, six spot, and death heads.

Here are some roach care sheets:
Orange head care
Discoid roach care
Lobster roach care
