caiman lizard or peach throat or water monitor

ahhhh! im in the process of figuring out which reptile i want the most. i originally became very interested in peach throat monitors. I did a ton of research and talked to many different reptile store employees to gain information. My local store has a few month old baby for sale.
This is the second cheapest.

I then became very interested in water monitors. I was presented with a very good price for a CBB vital exotic water monitor. It is 1 year old, tame and about 2 ft. I did a ton of research on them, i know they get very big and all that. That wouldn't be a problem in any shape, way or form. feeding her wouldn't be a problem either! This is the cheapest out of the three.

Then my local store got a Caiman lizard in. They are cb and about 8-10 months old. i slowly started liking them too. I also did a ton of research on them and found out everything i need to know.
This is the most expensive.

As of right now, i have a 6ft by 3ft by 2ft enclosure. I DO know that i will eventually have to upgrade. thats not a problem.


My question to you is, which would you get? and why? They are all different and im having alot of trouble figuring out which i want. just looking for some friendly opinions!

why would you pick the water monitor?

Peachy's need an arborealish setup and are very skittish, caimen lizards are not the most "friendly" choice. A water monitor is always the best choice if you have the means to care for it and the space for it to grow and thrive, few people do though.

I'm with the others on this. A CB tame water monitor is just an incredible animal. I don't know what your level of experience is but I probably wouldn't consider them if you are inexperienced.
I am glad to see that you are doing your research before making your purchase. So many keepers purchase WC Nile and water monitors with no idea what they are getting themselves in to.

Although you mention that the water monitor is the cheapest choice it will definitely be the most expensive of your three options to care for over the long run. (including food and long term adult housing).

Good luck with whatever option you choose. They are all great lizards.
By the way, make sure that the animal you are receiving is actually a CB monitor from Vital Exotics. (especially if it is inexpensive...because their CB water monitors sell from $650-$1500)
