Can someone explain color morphs to me?

I am just floored at all the morphs.

Well i am proud to say if you give me a box of geckos, i could point out the blizzards and the hyper melanistic, and thats ABOUT IT.

I hear you guys saying if its got this much spots, then its this, and if it doesn't..its this.

Can you help me out? I'm at a lost...

What makes something a high yellow?
What is "hypo" and what makes that animal classified as such?
What makes it a super hypo?
What makes it a bell?

With the rainwater or las vegas one, is it color or the little "raindrop" looking spots on its back.
....

Does anyone have a website that explains such things so i'm not questioning you to death?

http://www.leopard-gecko.net/morphs/

this is the list of morphs i am looking from. Thank you so much for all your time in advance

Glad to see you found us!

The morph page you have is a pretty good start. However, with morphs there seems to be a "gray" area. What criteria is used for specific morphs will vary from breeder to breeder. Some people who are looking to make a buck my tell you a regular (normal) is a high yellow or tangerine or any number of other interesting names to get you to buy their stuff. It is best to buy from reputable breeders/companies. And be sure to ask plenty of questions...by the way, I hope your 1st experience with leos hasn't turned you off to them, they are terrific pets!

Oh i love leos, they are very awesome pets!

I plan to get into breeding eventually myself, but i can't get too far without knowing the color morphs. I think i am just confused mainly on the yellows and tangs...because there are 5-10 variations of high yellows and 5-10 variations of tang.

And that red stripe picture confuses me, because i went to the website that photo is from, and looked at the red stripes they were selling...and they didn't have a stripe at all! Could you claim something to be a red stripe if it came from red stripe parents, even though it doesn't show the characteristics?

Is the color morphs based on genes alone, or on appearance? Or a little of both?

I have a morph page on my website... www.IlliniGeckos.com ...I'd give you the actual link for the morph page...but I'm too lazy...lol There may be a few things incorrect on it, but there are pictures and descriptions of nearly all of the morphs.

Bell is differnt Albinos Strian and if you want more info about Albinos and Hypo/Carrottail. you go to my site and read history and there would be 2 septare links. In few weeks I will add more info about morphs. Some Info I interveiwed with people are really not allow right now but I am trying to get them to agree with me. Red Stripe is Stripe but you see the 2 line instnse organe than body color that are simliar to normal stirpe. It is effected by Hypo Tangerine Carrottail linked with Stripe and it take few years to priduce nices ones.

I think a good site that gives a very basic breakdown with pictures is dreamgecko.com/morphs.html
