Lacy Act question About interstate transport

Everyone,

First off I would Like to say that I am fully aware and Have read much information pertaining to the Lacy act and the laws which have been put in place earlier this year. Im aware that The 2 Afrocks, Burm, and Yellow annie have been banned from interstate commerce as well as importation.

MY QUESTION IS......
(This also could have already been asked and I apologize in advance)

Are there any specific guidelines that pertain to Hybrids?

Example) Are Bat Eaters and Green-Yellow conda crosses allowed to be sold across state lines?

It also covers their hybrids.

ETA - Also includes eggs. Here's a link for a simplistic how it affects us discussion.

Google search 50CFR 16.22 for information on obtaining an Injurious animal permit. Our government can place bands on transporting animals however they won't stop you from making your living. So if your a breeder and have large chain store accounts or you do educational shows and must travel or ship across state lines you can climb throw the hoops and not risk becoming a felon. Hybrids are not listed.

First, the government isn't placing bands on anything. (Bands are required on many captive birds, but that is a different discussion & not really relevant in the Pythons discussion area.) What they have done is put 4 species large constrictors on the injurious wildlife list, effectively prohibiting interstate sales traffic. If one makes a living by selling those species as pets, or for breeding, then that listing absolutely gets in the way.

Those permits are granted only for zoological, medical, scientific, and educational purposes; and documentation is required. Sales outside of those purposes are not covered, and I would be rather surprised if exceptions were made for breeders with pet store contracts as that would be in conflict with the whole purpose of getting those species so listed.

They most certainly are - you should read the listing before digging up any more old threads
