    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i got a columbian red tail boa!

Pictures of my redtail.

Pretty blurry , hard to make out his pattern , colors look nice tho..... I think. At least they're in the right forum. :D

The term

"Redtail" is loosely used as a sales gimmick. Do the saddles have widow peaks? What color is the belly? Bring on the pics.

My friend it is a red tail boa,
As Tim and Reddog hinted, boa constrictor does not necessarily mean red-tail boa. BCI - Boa constrictor imperator - is the common boa (aka Colombian boa, Colombian red tail boa). It is also the taxonomic classification of several locale and insular groups of boas. BCC - Boa constrictor constrictor - are the "true red tails". They are not the same animals

My friend it is a red tail boa,

The "Pet store industry" adopted "red tail" as a name applied to almost any Boa Constrictor, WAY back in the day. They felt the term was less scary than "Constrictor". Unfortunately, it sorta stuck around.

In the herp industry, a TRUE Red Tailed Boa, is Boa Constrictor constrictor. Surinames, Brazilians, Peruvians, Guyanans, etc. South American.

The ones that are commonly called Colombian red tail, are in the BC imperator ssp. and are the most common ones around today. They are found from North Colombia, all the way thru Central America, and into Mexico.

What you have does indeed have the Colombian look to it, but it is without a doubt BCi.

Nice Boa BTW.
Rick
