In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well I have a large 6 ft male redtail up for sale, for $100. Chris contacted me the other day and after a few e-mails back and forth since he was interested. Well the last e-mail I got from him, he offered to trade me illegal items and false cards to use them. I'll post all e-mails I got from him below. I told him I wouldn't do business with him after that e-mail.

would you consider trade for something like a free medical marijuana card plus a $100 bucks worth of pot or hash? I can also throw down extra plastic bins, screens, heat lamps and bulbs, as well as thermometers. Plus I will guarantee in writing that I will give you 50% of each clutch from each snake when they do mate, plus the invitation to come see them as often as you like. Can you call me and we can discuss it from there?

Is this guy for real? Who would send a e-mail saying that and take the chance of some one turning them in? Or could be it be he wants you to say yes and bust you?I just cant see someone being that stupid but then again.....

Rick

Eh.......I'm not sure exactly what to say on this one.

Either this guy is a total moron, or.......a total moron. I have heard that they have narco cops cruising Craiglist since the whole "medical marijuana" posting thing on there has gotten so prevalent in some areas, but I honestly don't think they'd offer it flat out without you suggesting it first. That would be, well....dumb. :shrug01:

Seems a bit odd too, that for a big "CEO" (do they really have CEO's of herp stores?) that the email addy would use the name "Ally", when the Mr. Big CEO guy's name is Chris.

I'd fwd the emails to the proper authorities, and move on. Too many weird people in this world, I tell ya.

I'm thinking 'Ally' is Nagini's name?
But I agree, forward the email to the authorities to deal with and DON'T deal with this company.

I'm pretty sure that he "Ally" e-mail belongs to the original poster, not the pot head CEO.

Other than the emails are signed by Chris and have his business name and number (something anyone would have access too), what verification is available to show these emails were actually from him? Something this blatant could be an attempt to smear Chris's name. As Cat stated, he would have to be a moron. Maybe he is, don't know the guy, but something just doesn't feel right.

Oooops, my bad......duh.

Need more coffee.......the CEO dude's email makes sense. LOL.

It could be a way of guarenteeing his own safety if he decides to rip someone off. Maybe that's not the case here, but he might've done it before. :shrug01:

Bart,

That's a good point. I did an internet search on Bay Area Arboreals and I found this:

"I need birds, reptiles,, and other animals $$ or trade 420
Serious Inquiries only. I will call you immediately. I will pay more for them than wht you spent. Chris Nash Bay Area Arboreals, and The Exotic Ca Factory ...
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pet/485771250.html - "

I can't imagine someone actually running a public advertisement like the one above. If Chris did not in fact run it, perhaps he could request Craigslist track down who did?

Previous good guy post

from 6-15-05, shows the same email addy for Chris Nash. http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?p=560034#post560034

If it's not someone just out to "burn" (pun intended) Chris Nash using his email & personal info, which seems unlikely, then I'd say he needs to step away from the wacky tobacky because it's turned him into a total moron.

Yeah, the e-mail "Ally" is mine lol. As for what he sent me, it was originally my ad for a 6+ foot male redtail boa for sale for $100 and the e-mails are what he offered me. What would be the proper steps to report him to the athorities?

And he just posted this on Craigslist:

Hey-

I am looking for all specis of reptiles from large snakes and monitors, to bearded dragons, pythons, skinks, etc. I have a reptile business trough the smithsonian and we lost a large percentage of our animals due to a fire in the building next to us. Please cll if you have any questions or concerns. WE also specialze in birds, and birds of prey(meat eating birds), and all amphibians. WE pay cash as well as trade if needed.

Thankyou-

This clown scammed me about two years ago for $100. I made the mistake of shipping first before payment was made. After he received the animal he sent me a fake western union tracking number for the money. I lost a beautiful yellow amazon to this scam artist. I am glad to see he is still using the same email address and I now have a phone number for him. I assumed he was using am alias as he disappeared and no one at the time seemed to know who he was. Be very cautious with this guy. He is a good talker, but is not worth the dirt on the bottom of your shoes.

Anyone who NEEDS animals is screaming to get punched in the face. Keeping animals isn't a necessity, but a luxury someone like this seems to be after to make more money off of than his suppliers.

Sam, I really hope you get your money back. I was stoned out of a $30 refund last year, and although it was only $30, it was the animal, and the principle behind it that counts. Both of you should report him to the authorities, because multiple complaints carries more weight than one.

Paulina, she has no "proof" of anything, other than he's offering trades of illegal things. One doesn't even know if he even actually has it, or where he keeps anything if he does have it.

Alisyn, his number comes back as an Oakland number, I'd contact Oakland PD and see who you could fwd the emails and any other info you may have to. Or at least they could tell you who you need to get ahold of it it isn't them.

He's the kind of person we really don't need in this hobby, for sure.

Frank,
I am hoping to hear from him. I sent him an email but I don't really expect him to respond. I did file an Internet fraud complaint with the FBI but they really are not worried about anything under $10,000 from what I was told. When he got me I posted it on Kingsnake in all of my ads until they yanked them. I also emailed every body that I had email addresses for. I hope it at least caused him to miss the opportunity to rip off a few people.
