In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was about to place a order with Reptiles N Critters when after reading over the pages something seemed very strange about the company. I’m not claiming they are bad guys I just want other people to give me their feedback on my suspicions.

1. Reptiles N Critters owned by Robert Crespo works from an Apt D3 in Brooklyn , NY .
2. The animals are shipped from Arlington , Texas zip code 76011 – when you (www.google.com) (exotic reptiles 76011) the first site is US Global Exotics.
3. Reptiles N Critters has scavenged images from several sites and is pleading to the public to send pics of their animals.
4. US Global Exotics is owned by Jasen Shaw and supposedly only sells/ships to pet stores. If indeed he is drop-shipping orders for a retail website this is back stabbing the stores.
5. How can Mr. Crespo inform the customers of what, when, how, sex etc. without having all these animals in his apartment?

These are five facts I’ve found which lead me to believe that Reptiles N Critters and US Global Exotics are working with each other. I think it’s very deceptive and dishonest to consumers/pet stores which shop with either of the two. If in fact Jasen and Robert are working together think of the personal information (names, addresses, phones numbers, emails addresses, payment info) of consumers they are exchanging.

I don't see how this is "backstabbing the pet shops" but I personally would never order an animal from a drop shipper.

I have dealt with at least 20 different wholesalers and 100% of them will drop ship. There is no problem with this in my eyes. I do not have orders drop shipped simply because I want to see what is going out. I know many people that do have orders drop shipped and take the risk of there buyers getting garbage. With shipping at the price it is I would assume this will become a more common practice. I produce several thousand spiders a year and sell them to wholesalers. My wholesalers know I will drop ship for them and I see no problem with this at all.
Do you think Robert goes out and collects everything he sells and ships it back to the US or what? Working together, yes we do.
Personal info, this could all be goggled anyway other than pmnt. Info. When I drop ship all I have is buyers address and ph # and in 99.9% sure it is the same with global.
In my opinion another senseless worthless post on the BOI.

The concept is that you see an add placed by (Star Shaffer) for some big worms.
Star Shaffer has contact with Weird Science Reptiles that actually has the big worms.
You contact Star Shaffer and place an order for the big worms and pay Star Shaffer's price.
Star Shaffer contacts Weird Science Reptiles and purchases the big worms for a whole sale price and has them shipped to you.

It's where you pay me for product, but I don't physically have product - I have contract with ACME and have ACME send you the product.

It's a middle man that never carries what the widget they are selling.

For example - I advertise ball pythons, you pay me, but Jim is the guy who sends it to you.
Many new DVDs/CDs/etc on eBay are done that way.

I'd personally never buy an animal that way though, I want to buy it from someone who actually has physical possession of it before they list it for sale. I imagine drop shipping is a nightmare to deal with should the animal arrive sick or dead or not as described.

For the OP, yes, they are in fact working together. I inquired about Global Exotics' stock in an email, and was pointed to reptilesncritters.com's website. The person in the email said that their stock was "the same". This was maybe a year ago? I do not have the emails anymore to prove it, but you have my word that that is how the email went down. I inquired because I saw animals on global exotics' list that shouldn't technically be in captivity and it turned out to just be a massive list of animals that wasn't updated with real information or inventory, just merely a list of animals, and now I get weekly e-newsletters from reptilesncritters.com with their updated stock [albeit I don't plan to buy from them] that changes minutely with imported animals - snakes, frogs, and lizards.

OK, after making a post that is obviously written with a negative tone towards one or both of two companies, I still don't know your point. Do you have a bad experience with either company? Have you had them take money from you? Have you had them ship you bad animals? Have you been refused their business? Are you just whining because they are looking for new revenue streams?

I wouldn't buy from either company (whether one or two of them) since I prefer to get my stock from well-established breeders only, but that doesn't mean they are BAD at all. Well, they are wholesale importers. That says certain right there. They are actually one of the better ones in that group of people. If you are serious about saying they are bad for selling directly to the public, then make another post about Glades Herp, Strictly Reptiles, etc. There is no difference. They all do it!

Personally, the only problem I see here is this post. The business practice you describe are typical for that subset of this trade. Until you have had a bad experience with either company, this just looks like a whine more than a legitimate post to me. Heck, RichZ has commented that he sells (has sold?) to Jason Shaw! I've got a friend that has sold to him a few days ago, and the deal went down perfectly. I've only sold to him at expos, but I'd sell to him in a heartbeat!

Yes, I have sold my animals to Jasen Shaw for quite a number of years now and he has never done me wrong. Matter of fact, he is one of the VERY few people I will trust with sending off shipments before payment has been made up front. And believe me it is extremely rare for me to do something like that.

I too trust Jasen completely, I have bought and sold and feel comfortable that my money and my animals are safe.

that being said it is obvious ONLY that reptiles 'n' critters AKA haha reptiles is a devoted customer, not necessarily a subsidiary or any wing of the company, just a strong retail presence..
