In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Best options to ship snakes

I have called DHL, FED EX and UPS and they all tell me, "WE DO NOT SHIP SNAKES".

One of the guys on the phone seemed like he hinted that they will ship REPTILES but not snakes and from his tone of voice it sounded like I should say it is some other type of reptile in the box and I could get away with it...

I'm delta dash certified but that is a crazy shipping cost.

What is my best option to ship snakes?

There's no reason at all why you have to tell them what's in the box. I use FedEx and UPS on a regular basis. So does everyone else. (hint, hint) As far as I'm concerned, I couldn't care less about people's ignorances and stupidities. It's the farthest thing from MY problem. I need a service, they provide it, I pay for it. End of story.

Fedex does ship reptiles -- but most employees don't seem to know it. You have to contact the live animal desk (I think that's what they are call it now), jump through a few hoops and sign a waiver but it can be done. Or you can just ship through Reptster.com and save yourself the hoops and about $20 per shipment.

Fed ex

It is honestly really easy to get fed ex certified. If you are going to ship reptiles it is good to do. There is a LONG tread on getting certified and it is really helpful. I sent in (no cost to me) my test box, they said I passed, then they sent me some papers to sign and WALA I am certified, no hassle. If you get it done (I procrastinated because I thought I wouldn't pas the box test) it takes a very short time. Start Monday, call, then send in the box you are going to ship your snakes in, then wait a few days to get the contract then walla you are certified, no underhandedness needed. No looking over your shoulder hoping you don't get caught. The box test is easy, just send in what you plan on sending your snakes in. IF it is the proper set up then you pass. I think you have to have a crush strength of 32 and taping the lid on the deli cup that you have your (fake) snake in.

I have used Reptster and love it. Makes it easy and you save money for the customer

My recent phone conversation with UPS

I called UPS (home office, customer service) six weeks ago and asked if they allow the shipping of snakes. The rep looked at her documentation, and said, "If it's not poisonous or dangerous, we will ship a snake. However, we will not be responsible for the snake should there be an issue during shipping."
I then spoke to a UPS representative at the Daytona Show...told him this and he said, "Just be sure to let an agent see how well you've packed the animal."
I then checked prices with UPS---prohibitive.
That said, I have now used Reptster on two occasions and it is a fantastic service...much cheaper than UPS and easy to set-up.
All the best-

Either UPS needs to update their website, or the rep you spoke to isn't completely informed:

That's exactly the problem. One employee will give you the OK and a second one (who has read or interpreted their regulations as intended) can stop your shipment anywhere in transit. Way too risky to sleep well at night until the snakes arrives to destination.

Best

Depending on the animals and the destination, Dash is sometimes cheaper :ack2:
I just got a FedEx quote for $125

Yeah I have noticed that larger boxes are cheaper via Delta and smaller ones cheaper via Reptster/FedEx.

WOW! I guess for my needs Fed Ex is cheaper. I only use Delta for shipping Hot snakes but I guess if I have a big/heavy order Delta may be who I use as well.
