    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Chad Horne posted an ad on fauna for a lot of 20 baby sulcattas for 400$ plus shipping. I contacted him and told him I was interested in the 20 lot and wanted to know how much was shipping to my location he contacted me back and told me it was 90.92 shipping to my location I then went and PayPaled him 491.00$ on April 29, he than emailed me and said he would ship the tortoises as soon as the money cleared in his account. I wanted him to ship out tortoises May 3rd for a May 4 delivery but he said the money hadn't cleared in his account and that he was gonna be out of town Friday May 5th so then on May 2nd which was the last time I heard from him told me that he would ship today for a tuesday delivery. I have been contacting thru email since yesterday and he has not responded back to me. Last time I heard from him was May 2nd. He also deleted the ad for the 20 lot of sulcattas. Beware of Chad Horne.
 
Chad Horne is a good guy and will make this right I'm sure of.. I've dealt with him here in Az. I will notify him of this, if it hasn't been done already. I think you've jumped the gun!
 
I have already filed a claim thru PayPal. And will be contacting my credit card to see if they can refund my money. It is a shame...

I did not have his number but a friend of mine had his number so he gave it to me today and I have tried calling him and no answer. I have also notified him of his thread.
 
Yes Tom I'm aware of how long it can take. Most cases it wont take more than 5 days. It shows in my account as completed and the money has been taken out of my account. But was is the reason to not returning my emails? He said on May 2nd that he would ship them out Monday for a Tuesday delivery, if the shipment could not be sent out I think the best think to do is email your buyer and keep him informed.
 
I think he worked for www.salmonboa.com too? Not positive, but, they may have some info for ya. He may have been on a vacation? Dudes got dough, I know he doesn't need $400 this bad...

FWIW. I got a great Boa off of him many years ago. Complete pleasure to deal with

Can you post your e-mails, including the one where he tells you he will ship for Tuesday delivery?
 
I hope he does make things right. We will have to wait and see. Like you said it is 400$ dollars. I don't think he would ruin his reputation for that.
 
not yet, I'm actually going out of town Friday so I'll be shipping out Monday for Tuesday.

I agree with the communication part. I hate PayPal, and refuse a deal over it these days.. Arguing over who's payin the fees... I have had to make people wait 14 days before.. Just saying..

On the other hand. For the communication part. Yes, you should have been updated every 24 hrs or so. That is my process. Even if nothing happened, I check in with a status update daily when I have someone's dough.. Most don't, some still do though.

I'm confident that you will get a proper explanation from the guy here shortly. Sometimes Mother Nature drops new plans in our laps and we can't deal with everything right then and there. Not excusing anything, but, stuff happens and I hope Chad and the Family are fine.

Correct he said he would sent out today for delivery tommorow. I sent him 2 emails yesterday asking him if he would ship out today and no response. I emailed him today couple times and no response. And I also called him and no response. I would of expected a tracking number or just an email by now.
 
I think I would've waited at least until tomorrow to start this thread and all. I know you want your critters, and he should have communicated, but things can go wrong.

The way I see it, Oliver, is that it's a couple hours past the shipping deadline on the first possible day after Chad went out of town. You haven't been able to find out what has/ hasn't happened to him on his end.

I, like many others, go out of my way to stay in contact. But, life happens. I think you should have given him at least until tomorrow before posting this.

My take on the situation is to be careful when selling to you.
 
am i missing something here. boy, it seems so many people are jumping the gun with big red x's and bad guy threads, and finding out later in the thread, that its just a warning.

why do people jump the gun and slap bad guys on warning threads. why not slap an info label on it first, if there hasnt even been an opportunity for the "other guy" to make it right.

now, to make this post relative to the thread at hand, was any other type of contact tried (ie, text, old fashioned phone call, etc)
 
I have bought and traded with many people on fauna and not one time have I had a problem or they had a problem with me. I don't think anyone out here wants to buy from someone that does not communicate with them, I know I don't.

I did try calling him and rings and rings and no answer.
