Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It always amuses me when someone knowingly does something wrong, and then gets irate about being faced with the consequences of their actions. I had no opinion of Jim prior to this, but his "eloquent" email is very telling indeed.

As for Jim calling anyone an "asshole," I now have three words to relay to him.... pot, kettle, black.

Okay, let me get this straight...
  • Jim knows and acknowledges the consequences of his actions prior to his breaking the rules.
  • Jim breaks the rules anyways.
  • Jim gets upset about being warned about breaking the rules.
  • Jim sends a profane email to Rich.
  • Jim sends a second profane email to Rich when his first email gets him suspended.
  • Jim wants an apology, despite not even remotely deserving one.
[Sarcasm] Sounds like we lost a real ASSet. I hope he pays the fine and comes back. [/sarcasm]

Just give yourself time and you may actually get one. You just have to practice quietly at home.

Here...I'll give you an example of how jokers like Jim get themselves in trouble...

"Jim Scharphorn is full of BOVINE SCAT and is a RECTAL ORRIFICE !!!" :D (thought better to say it about Jim and recent antics than to say something like that bout Webslave) ;)

See,:raspberry you just have to be willing to say garbage like that to get yourself in trouble...

Hey I like to think I'm a valued member of this community, and I don't have any warning points.

I did, however, say something bad about someone. Made me feel terrible. So I apologized in the very next post. Avoided that warning point I was sure was whizzing my way through cyberspace.

To me the silliest thing is that profanity and losing your temper and the sort of behaviour evidenced here are so UNprofessional. When I get mad I walk away from that keyboard. Those who must use that sort of "communication" are the sort I do not care to do business with, regardless of the good prices and excellent quality of their animals.

In the case of Jim, he was an idiot, he did some stupid things in the heat of the moment. I do not believe his intention was ever to steal a snake or to kill said snake. I do believe he was goaded into being an idiot by some who are the true evil in the herp society. BUT.... and this is a big but.... he did err. Regardless of his admission of error and rectification of the situation, he erred. He deserved a bad feedback, and he got one. He needs to suck it up and act professional, knowing there are always going to be evil people out there who will do their best to stain your reputation. In the end his own actions spoke the loudest, and he showed himself to be a hot-headed idiot who obviously is several steps short of professional.

The final analysis is that if a person is a good guy he or she can demonstrate that through whatever accusations are thrown at them. They do not resort to imagination-less profanity, shouting, and over-excited behaviour. They discuss. They explain. They mitigate situations. They are calm. They are rational. And who the heck cares if they go on a fifty minute verbal tirade to their favorite snake telling it that so-and-so is a such-and-such liar etc. They know that when they are speaking with the public it is important to demonstrate your quality of character. Sadly, Jim demonstrates only a lack in quality of character.

Jim lied. Now, he says that he had a good reason to lie, and that lying to the person to whom the lie was told is all right because of how bad that person is, but he lied nonetheless. For that, he got some negative feedback from the person to whom he lied.

Now, some of the feedback was just hyperbolic revenge-seeking tripe, and it was deleted by the WebSlave. However, there was validity to the one aspect in regard to Jim's lying about a deal, and the WebSlave allowed that one negative feedback entry to stand.

Jim, incensed at the perceived unfairness of it all, begins to personally attack the WebSlave with vulgarities, thereby showing himself to be the type of person with whom no one should want to do business. For that he recieved the appropriate warning points.

Then Jim, not being satisfied with simply having been put in his place, attacked the WebSlave again with another profanity laced email. For that he has now been banned, pending payment of a $10 fine.

Shame really ...

It ought to be a $1000 fine. That way, if he ever decides to come back and be a part of this community again, the WebSlave will at least have the comfort of those bills in his pocket for having allowed Jim to rant here again.

I am not certain I know what you're talking about there, but I do not condone lying for any reason. To me there is nothing that one can do to me that justifies me lowering myself to that level. I'd rather be ripped off, than to have to live with my conscience after having told a lie.

It's covered in the last several pages of the Tim Bowles/Arboreals of the Rainforest debacle. Jim got taken by Tim, and tried to set Tim up by lying to him out of frustration. That's what got the ball rolling on the whole deal.

Here's a link to the whole mess. I'd get some heavy duty headache reliever handy before I waded too deeply into that quagmire, however!
