In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok I know there's other threads started on this, but most of them are like one review with 10 pages of responses...it's really drama-filled and immature. I want clear, concise reviews so I can really get a good idea of where they're at now. So I want people to reply with either GOOD GUY or BAD GUY and give a short, one-paragraph description. Don't respond to anyone else's feedback, I only want to hear YOUR experience.

I'll start. I ordered a few years ago and did not have a very good experience. I ordered some Gulf Coast Toads and a pacman frog. The toads were the wrong species (they were Southern Toads), and the pacman frog died the next day. Rather than giving me a refund or sending me the right species, they offered a 25% store credit. So for me, I'd say "Bad Guy". However, I've read a few good reviews, so I might give them a second chance (they have really good prices on a few items). I wouldn't ever put in a large order from them though...

Neutral.

I ordered 3 baby farm-bred rhino vipers from them. All vipers arrived alive and they were very helpful with getting the order set up and keeping in touch when the flight was delayed.

But, the babies were packed in very moist moss, so since they sat at an airport longer than expected the one got some water blisters. All of the babies did eat and do well for me. I since have sold them to friends, but they all were doing great.

I would not hesitate to buy from them again, but I would make a point to ask them to ship my snakes on dry bedding.

Hesitant.

I ordered a bunch (10-12) basilisks from them about a year ago with specific size (3-4" SVL) and condition requirements (no broken or regenerated tails, perfect limbs). The first shipment was filled with lizards who were all way too small. They were quick on responding and sent me a FedEx return label right away.

The replacement shipment had three which were still too small (2" SVL), one with a broken tail (the end was not in the bag, so it happened before packing), one with a largely regenerated tail, one with a broken (but healed) leg, and another with a dislocated hip. Another one died a couple days after shipment. I contacted them a second time about this. They promised a replacement for these lizards. They never arrived, and my follow-up calls to them were never resolved.

I'm very reluctant to order from them again.

I would be hesitant to deal with them due to my one and only experience that did not result in a sale but.....
I noticed they had a Boiga listed on Kingsnake( dont remember exactly which one but think it was a Mangrove) and offered shipping including Florida.
I emailed them pointing out that the sale of Boiga was not legal in the state of Florida without a permit, they responded stating that it was legal to sell them in Florida without any permit and I knew nothing and should shop elsewhere ( obviously do not have this correspondence as was over 6 months ago)
So yes I shopped elsewhere........
Just that lack of basic knowledge concerned me immensely
Or worse scenario was they knew but did not care?

I think anyone interested in getting a good picture of a company would do well to read all of what is said about them. The devil is in the details, and explanations and questions help bring out facts. If there are issues in either the buying or the selling of a critter, more input can actually be more helpful.

Well, they have a young super motley boa posted right now and those are born to die early, so that says a lot about them.

I was hesitant to deal with them after reading some of the threads here. None of the heavy negative feedback I saw on them seemed to be recent.

I gave them a chance and purchased a baby axanthic iguana. Communication was good, even with some delays due to a computer issue. They gave me daily updates prior to shipping, and their follow up communication was also good once I received the iguana.
It arrived well packaged, healthy and alert. Very skittish, but that is to be expected from an iguana especially after a shipping experience. Eating right away and I have no issues with the purchase.
I still prefer to purchase locally whenever possible, but I would use them again if I am looking for a harder to find animal.

I ordered 6 plains garter snakes from them this last spring. They were healthy nice looking animals, they all ate for me and are still doing good. I have all but one switched to pinkies. I also have a broad banded watersnake from them Also doing well and feeding on fuzzies.

I have ordered from them within the past year. Excellent service and good communication, the order was packaged well also. All animals were healthy, as a matter of fact all are still alive and doing well. But as with any company it all depends on who packed your order and what kind of day they were having.

I did a mixed order from them this past winter, I believe the animals in the shipment were a baby crested gecko, a reed frog, a African house snake and a tokay gecko. Communication was great, the animals all seemed healthy, though the tokay was a little underweight if I remember right. all in all, I was a very satisfied customer.

I'd order from them if it was an animal who's background I don't care much about (ie a non breeder animal). I've seen their ads for Blue Tongue Skinks, and they advertise intergrades and incorrectly label their Blue Tongue subspecies. It's not hard to tell the subspecies apart, so I'm not sure if they're intentionally mislabeled or not.

I bought a Borneo Short Tail from them in December of last year. It was labelled "Super Stripe Het Ultra Blood Python".

She was shipped according to their schedule and besides being underweight, she seemed otherwise healthy. She ate the first meal, thawed rat pup, that I had offered a few days later and I have had no problems.

So I can say that I paid them, they completed their end of the transaction as per their terms and it has all worked out fine for me. I don't know that they would be my first recommendation but I agree with the sentiment above, based solely on my experience, they are fine for a non-breeder purchase.

One order placed, Not the best.

I purchased several hatchling turtles from them off of kingsnake. Razorback musk and 2 x spiny softshells. The razorback musk never ate for me. It died after about a week. Both softshells got fungus soon and perished. Environments and care were very good. Stuff happens, baby turtles die. But I'm not inclined to buy from them again..

Ordered a baby Pixie Frog and a Cane Toad from them once. The Pixie Frog came in healthy and has stayed healthy, but the Cane Toad never ate and died about 3 days later, so 50/50

I have noticed that they do mislabel some animals, here or there, each year.
Cannot state that I am 100% certain it is unintentional but, although I am not a big fan of theirs, do kind of lean towards its being unintentional. Main reason is because I have seen an Ad, or two, (of theirs) where the animal was actually something of higher value than what they listed it as. Cannot imagine a business would intentionally mislabel an animal as being something of lesser monetary value than what it actually is.
At the least end, they do need to get better, at double checking, before posting.

....

Purchased a few animals from Underground (dart frogs, ball python, boa, pixie frog) -all are alive and well, never had a problem with any animal.

I ordered a pair of Blackhead Pythons from them last year. Both are doing great, now over four feet long. I'm super happy with them. I'm sorry I missed out on some Diamond Pythons they had a couple of weeks ago. I should have bought them as well. I'd absolutely buy again.

I've bought a couple animals from them. First was one of my ball pythons. He came to me one of the most gorgeous examples of his morph I'd ever seen, healthy, and is still thriving today.

Second was some pacman frogs. Most were good, there were 2 that were quite small though and wouldn't eat on their own. Force fed them which kept them going for a bit but they eventually died, not sure why. The others were fine though, especially the brown one, he's a big boy and a garbage disposal with food lol

Third was a corn snake. Just like the ball python, the corn snake was great.

And finally I pre-ordered a blue tegu. When they finally hatched, my tegu came in healthy and is still doing well. He's super cute and LOVES to eat. I think he'll be a great big boy once he's older. (Hoping he's a boy, though could be girl lol)

So yeah, I'd say I've generally had good experiences with Underground. I probably wouldn't buy frogs anymore, but to be honest I don't know many reliable pacman breeders so if I ever wanted another pacman I'd get one at a show that I can see for myself. But with snakes and lizards, I love all the ones I've got from them.

Received a ball python purchased from Underground Reptiles in great healthy condition. Also, received a follow up call along with emails on shipping updates. Great customer service.

Highly recommended!
